Role Description

This role involves monitoring patient safety through advanced technology and communication.

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain focused in a distraction-free environment
  • Clear and professional verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy; ability to operate monitoring technology
  • Ability to follow escalation and safety protocols
  • Monitor multiple patients simultaneously via the Artisight AI-enabled camera system
  • Recognize and respond to unsafe patient behaviors
  • Verbally redirect patients using two-way audio communication when appropriate
  • Activate escalation protocols and promptly notify unit nursing staff when intervention is needed
  • Maintain continuous visual monitoring to ensure patient safety and document events per policy
  • Collaborate with bedside nurses, charge nurses, and the Admission/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) Virtual RN
  • Report changes in patient condition or unsafe behaviors promptly to the care team
  • Document all significant observations, interventions, and communications in the monitoring software or EMR
  • Operate and troubleshoot Artisight virtual monitoring equipment
  • Respond to AI-generated alerts and adjust observation focus accordingly
  • Ensure cameras are positioned appropriately for maximum visibility and privacy compliance
  • Participate in ongoing competency training and technology updates

Qualifications

  • BLS (CPR) Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CNA, PST, Medical assistant, monitor technician, or Patient Care experience preferred
  • Prior healthcare and patient sitting experience preferred
